Essential Healing Arts Training

March 10-11, 2012

Registration for the course is currently full. Please email info@perennialmedicine.com to be added to the wait list.

The workshop is designed to teach reliable methods of accessing the Healing Connection with anyone. The skills taught will also be fully applicable to healing situations outside of formal health care contexts, including family life, classrooms, activism for social change, and work within organizational structures. All that is required of the student is sincerity.

For Healers:

What modern science dismisses as the Placebo Effect is actually a practical, teachable set of skill which anyone can learn. This inner aspect of medicine has always been considered an essential part of any traditional healing modality, worldwide, until modern times. Because of this, you are potentially your most powerful healing tool/asset. The ability to connect with others from the Healing Presence within yourself allows others to connect with the source of healing in themselves.

For Activists:

Activism as Healership
It is a form of healership that focuses on the collective. There are many skills from healing traditions which can benefit activists who have made the embodied shift from activist-as-warrior to activist-as-healer. Social injustice, like sickness, is not something we must fight. It is an opportunity to engage with others in such a way that their own healing initiative is awakened.

For Sufis:

Practical Sufi Skills in a Stealth Healing Context
Sometimes it is hard to know how to bridge the gap between our personal practice of Sufism, and our every day life.

This is especially the case when we are in a context which does not comfortably allow us to use Sufi terminology, or pray out loud, or even indicate in any way that we are living and interacting with spiritual and healing intent. This experiential workshop gives practices and strategies for using Sufi methods (without disclosing that they are Sufi methods) in the context of healing, teaching, activism, family life, or anything else that involves human interaction.

(Class exercises are edited out, since they are experiential and don’t make good listening!)
