What Earth herbal formulas are most likely to be of use in the late summer?

The hallmark of a healthy Earth element is that you love what is good for you. This is integrity: when pleasure and wholesomeness coincide. Now of course, we live in a time when there is manufactured food that has absolutely no interest in being wholesome or nutritious; that’s not even a factor. Without those concerns, manufactured food has the luxury to focus completely on pleasure. This, of course, wrecks the integrity of our digestive system. It’s very confusing to have food designed just to seduce us into pleasure, with no regard for nourishment. Our Earth element gets very, very confused.

Let’s look at what we can do with herbs to bring the digestion back into integrity–not only on a physical level, though we certainly start there. What we’re really looking for is the deep rehabilitation of the Stomach and Spleen’s ability to assess, “Is this good for me?” and if so, say “Yum. That’s what I really want.” In fact, that’s what brings us out of the seduction of pleasure that  hijacks integrity. For our bodies, and for our lives, that’s what is actually going to be satisfying.

This course is going to be a mixture of lecture, demo, and plenty of experiential exercises. Please come to this workshop ready to think, feel, and engage with others. It’s the best way to learn skills that we will be using with real people in the treatment room.

A New Online Experience

This teleconference will be like no other that you have taken. We will use a variety of gentle yet effective online health and hygiene measures to create a Group Heart that will be nourishing, palpably connected, and rich with transmission.

What people are saying about working with Thea online: “The main thing I was most struck by after a 3-4 hour practice with Thea was how energized and full I felt; I was ready to keep going when it ended.  It was the exact opposite of how I’ve felt after many 1-hour Zoom calls at work.”

– David S.

Thea Elijah’s teaching style is inimitable. She dresses up in costume, she plays relevant music, she says things that anyone might think but would NEVER say out loud. She’ll do whatever it takes to get across the energetic of an herb or formula. Performance art and class exercises are her primary medium for teaching the spirit of the herbs. I am so grateful to be learning this material through life experiences and descriptions which are easy to remember and true to life.
