Open to Joy

Joy is an emotion that is necessary for our health—and yet in a world full of chaos, or a life of struggle, it can seem downright irresponsible to seek joy. And, when we find it, we may even feel guilty about it—Is this really ok? Even when there is suffering and hardship?

Healthy joy can spring up in our heart in an unguarded moment, increase our compassion, and open us to insight. When our hearts remember joy, we are able to remain connected to the light in ourselves and in each other. It is a gift that we harbor, and that we can share. This is not something to feel guilty about! It is an offering of openness to life.

Joy is a precious flower that blooms in the middle of our chest when we are willing and open—and we will learn exercise for re-opening if we have become closed. It is not the same as distraction, giddiness or escapism (although those can be fun sometimes). It thrives anywhere that it can take root in laughter or playfulness, and expands with the breath. Even if it lasts only a moment, it connects us with the light of Universal Shen (the consciousness of the Big Heart).

It can be hard to re-build a fire from scratch. It’s much easier to catch a spark. Come join us.

A New Online Experience

This teleconference will be like no other that you have taken. We will use a variety of gentle yet effective online health and hygiene measures to create a Group Heart that will be nourishing, palpably connected, and rich with transmission.

What people are saying about working with Thea online: “The main thing I was most struck by after a 3-4 hour practice with Thea was how energized and full I felt; I was ready to keep going when it ended.  It was the exact opposite of how I’ve felt after many 1-hour Zoom calls at work.”

– David S.

“I have never met a more gifted teacher. Thea embodies the herbs and formulas in such a beautiful and heartfelt way, that what would otherwise be mere information becomes a living immediate experience for the student. Don’t blink or you’ll miss something intensely wonderful and unique.”

– Ki Ennes, M.Ac., L.Ac.
