The Fire Element

Cultivation of the Fire Element in summer is essential to health. The opportunity to open in warmth, allowing ourselves to blossom fully in life, is a task requiring surprising amounts of tenderness. We must learn to be playful, but without losing our sense of responsibility.

We must be able to expand beyond ourselves to connect with others, but without scattering. We must overcome shame and inhibition, but without losing propriety. We must connect with each other spontaneously, and yet seek the kind of loving friendship that will endure—to keep us warm through the long winters to come.

Topics Include

• The emotional physiology of veins and arteries
• How the difference between arms and legs expresses the Fire Element
• The purpose of healthy confusion
• The difference between vulnerability and intimacy
• Aspects of silliness and humor that are important to health

Monday Integration Day

Join Thea Elijah for an opportunity to practice what you learned over the weekend with a small group (maximum eight practitioners). In a supportive environment, we will have the opportunity for individual questions and coaching, as well a chance to treat each other (only with permission).

“Thea is rigorous in grounding her teaching in the classics, as well as in the work of such scholars as Elizabeth Rochat de la Vallée, Ted Kaptchuk and Claude Larre. She delivers her information with a flair for storytelling and humor, a compassionate heart, and the humility of a true master. She never sacrifices the student’s learning and growth for the sake of dictating information.”

— Becky Thoroughgood, L.Ac.

“I feel I cannot begin to express my own personal transformation in this last year as a result of Whole Heart Acupuncture. I too have experienced a deeper connection and a steadier, less quivering opening of my heart with those around me. For me this is huge… and only the tip of the iceberg. I’m grateful for your insights, and to the whole group for the enriching cocoon of love and support in this life changing journey.”

– Gale Long, L.Ac.
