A Bladder Day, A Kidney Day, and a Practice Day

While a single day may not be enough time to cover absolutely everything about the Bladder, or about the Kidney, it’s enough time for a “healing tour” of the issues that are most likely to be challenging our Water element and the Water of our clients at this time. These days are designed to be partly a teaching and partly a healing for the participant, who will leave with an embodied sense of the potential of the Water acupuncture point treatments that we cover.

Then on Monday, we’ll practice long-distance acupuncture treatment with each other (see below for more details).

A Day-Long Rehab of the Bladder Meridian

The Bladder’s primary function is to regulate our degree of alertness, from so fast asleep that we do not hear the alarm clock, all the way to white-knuckle terror. In health, we are able to move easily between states of arousal, such that we are only expending as much resource of Qi as the moment demands. However, our intensity-regulator is all too easily dysregulated by chronic stress, false calls to urgency (Be the fifth caller!), and dangers that we feel we can do nothing about.

Come join us for a day designed to explore, point by point, the Bladder meridian’s innate capacity to return to a healthy apprehension of mystery in varying degrees of awe.

A Day-Long Rehab of the Kidney Meridian

The Kidney is the storehouse of our potential—most of which is sleeping and hidden, even from ourselves. Even those of us who feel that we’ve been running on empty for years will find, when we turn to face the darkness inside, that what our ancestors have given us is more than we ever imagined—and more than we have ever drawn upon. The catch is that in order to draw upon the gifts of the ancestors, we must use these gifts to fulfill our destiny—to complete the mission that we were sent here to serve.

Come join us for a point by point tour of the Kidney meridian, a discussion of the nature of jing, and a reunion with our purpose. It’s the only thing that tonifies Kidney Yin, Kidney Yin, Kidney Qi, and Kidney Jing at the same time.

Online Acupuncture Treatment

Many practitioners are experimenting these days with various techniques for doing acupuncture treatment online. People have come up with some amazing different approaches! Would you like to explore together? Practitioners who are present for both the Stomach and Spleen workshops are invited to share and learn while treating and being treated.

What people are saying about working with Thea online: I really liked how I could turn my camera off and shed a private tear or take a deep breath and integrate the material without being seen for a moment.  This format provided just the right amount of connection and privacy that is perfect for me.”

– Emily K.

What people are saying about Thea as a teacher: “Thea is rigorous in grounding her teaching in the classics as well as in the work of such scholars as Elizabeth Rochat de Vallée, Ted Kaptchuk, and Claude Larre. She delivers her information with a flair for storytelling and humor, a compassionate heart, and the humility of a true master. She never sacrifices the student’s learning and growth for the sake of dictating information.”

– Becky T., L.Ac.
